Eng-Tips
Forums
Independent online discussion groups designed to help engineers of all
disciplines solve work-related problems. Eng-Tips Forums are free and
confidential discussions on any subject, product, or strategy within the
engineering discipline. Membership in the forums is in the hundreds of
thousands. The site includes notification of new questions or responses
within selected forums, keyword searches, and a link library.

MaterSci.Net
comprises a searchable database of Internet resources (links) related
to materials science and metallurgy. The mission of MaterSci.Net is "to
become the best source for information related to all branches of materials
science."
MatWeb
MatWeb contains
a database of material properties, including "thermoplastic and thermoset
polymers such as ABS, nylon, polycarbonate, polyester, and polyolefins;
metals such as aluminum, cobalt, copper, lead, magnesium, nickel, steel,
superalloys, titanium and zinc alloys; ceramics; plus a growing list of
semiconductors, fibers, and other engineering materials." Users can
find materials property data via trade names, manufacturers, and UNS Numbers
as well as by property-based, composition-based, and material type searches.
